Random thoughts about the past couple of weeks (note: after reading this over, I discovered that I ended each paragraph with a smiley face. I guess that means I'm quite the happy girl..):
"Black Comedy" is over -- I was very pleased with the finished product! Everything went smoothly, aside from Saturday night (for me personally, not everyone else), when I wanted to cry...especially since a lot of people came who I really admire and they had to see me when I sucked...other than that, we put on a good show and I was happy. Also, Laura and Ali both gave me the BEST pep talks when I was down. I have such supportive family and friends, and friends that FEEL like family. Oh, I loved that I wore a jacket that was stolen from the CHS costume room and Mr. Garrett came to the show...and had no clue :-)
And now, I am currently being consumed by BatBoy rehearsals. I am so honored to be a part of such a talented cast! Everyone is amazingly talented, and it's the most humbling thing to be amongst them. They have all been so nice and accepting of me, to top it off (they all knew each other for the most part, while I knew two or three people tops), and I love that I am getting to be friends with everyone :-D
As much fun as I am having in Irvine, it was wonderful to be home over the weekend. I spent the majority of the time with my family...went to Hitch with my mom and dad....shopping and running around town with my mom (missing her right now..)...saw Millman...surprised my cousin Jenny for her 17th birthday...and just enjoyed the fact that I was in my OWN space. As much as UCI has become my home in the past few months, nothing will EVER come close to the feeling I have when I am in that lovely house at the end of the cul-de-sac. :-)
Pictures? Yep. You love it.
...except they aren't sizing properly -- damn shit ass photobucket.com -- so I'm making this an LJ-cut.
Valentine's Day!
For VDay, I got a card and a big package from my mommy...complete with a punch-out mask, heart boxers, a stuffed dog with a heart, and lots of other goodies (including an "I <3 Elmo" shirt!
The other big dog I am holding is from Pat. It sings.)
She also sent us a heart-shaped basket of mini muffins from Mrs. Beasley's Bakery. And Ali and I made the dessert face. A LOT.
And then we went to sushi, before Pat and I ran to rehearsal...
Three of MY valentines!!
BELLA!:
Bella and Jazzy...awwww
Watching the Grammys...before we moved to my room and went craaazy...
Party at Disney John's casa...
Al, Pat, Kate, John (Real, not DJ.), Frankie, me
My beautiful friend, sister, everything...and me.
John and Lan
seexy.
Aww love :-)
More love....Other Katie (on the ground) is taking off Frankie's shoe, for those of you who were wondering what she was doing down there...
Having fun...because we CAN! (Why am I holding a lightsaber while I'm dancing? Why is there even a lightsaber in the apartment?)
Us :-)
Off to go peer review stories for fiction, memorize lines for my drama scene, etc etc..I let my mom read a story today that I wrote for Fiction. I never let ANYONE read my stuff. She thought it was really interesting and good, which means a lot coming from her (she's an amazing writer).
Driving in the dark on the freeway in the pounding rain while cars on either side of you are sending waterfalls off of the road and onto your car is terrifying.
...I saw a rainbow today sewn into the clouds...
P.S. Don't you just love those people who make you feel like the most honest version of yourself when you're around them? That's all...it's just nice.
