[ anyone who happens to come across the bridge situated across the river between houses twelve and fifteen this afternoon will find one anakin skywalker tinkering with his right arm -- the false, mechanical one. he's doing so with a small metal file, something that may seem frustrating given the look upon his face, but is actually rather enjoyable

[Oh, look. It's the guy with the floaty mojo from the last experiment. Huh. Buffy swerves off her bee-line to get a closer look, peering at him while she crosses the bridge. Oh so nosy.

What, wait? Is that a--?] Oh my God, your arm!

[ anakin looks up mere seconds before buffy speaks up. her presence feels familiar, though he doesn't recognize her face at all. he should've recognized a familiar presence a lot sooner than he did, but with the way that this place was dimming his connection to the force, his reactions were a lot more delayed. he'd have to meditate on all this later and start paying better attention; things weren't just going to come to him here like they did back home. ]

Huh? Oh.

[ he flexes the mechanical fingers and shrugs. ]

It's been this way for a while.

[She makes her own leaps and assumptions, putting together her last encounter with this person and sandwiching it in with this one. A strange arm? Well...maybe.]

Is that how you did the floaty thing, with the groceries? Because of your arm?

[ now being aware of the body-switching incident from before, he gets where he's felt this presence before, thanks to her words. ]

Ahh, you were in the body of that girl dressed like a Diathim?

[ diathim's were the famed angels from the moons of iego, so this was a compliment towards fina's body. ]

No. I can levitate things with my mind. I'm Fo--telepathic, telekinetic, hyper-aware... Less here than I usually am.

[Diawhatnow? Buffy's confusion is evident but she doesn't speak on it. Simply offers a look. One that snowballs in its incredulity as he continues to speak.]

So you're, what? Some kind of warlock?

Warlock?

[ he laughs and shakes his head. ]

No, no. I'm not one of those Hapan witches or warlocks. I'm a Jedi Knight. A Force-user?

[slaying]

Knight. [Her mouth flatlines.] You don't exactly look the part, do you? Sorta lacking in the hulking shiny armour department, right?

Not that kind of knight.

[ he responds, somewhat amused. it'd been a while since someone had mistaken him for that particular breed of knight; the ones who stood outside palaces on worlds with governing royals. ]

The Jedi Order is more...monastic, you could say. We're keepers of the peace. Guardians and protectors of the Republic. Sometimes it means we fight, but sometimes fighting is necessary to promote peace.

[Monastic? Like a monk. Hmm. This guy didn't quite seem too look that part, either. Not enough bald action going on. But Buffy shrugs and goes with the flow.]

Okay, I get it. I think--sorta. Sounds like you fight the good fight.

Sometimes.

[ he says with a sigh, flexing the mechanical limb. ]

We're not meant to fight as much as we are now, but circumstances make for courses of action that are otherwise unavoidable. Leading armies instead of negotiating treaties. I'm good at it -- we're good at it. The fighting. But sometimes it's--

[ what are you going on about, anakin? you like fighting droids. ...but you don't like killing sentients. and sometimes doing that makes you feel like you're not a jedi. why are you telling this girl, though? see, can't play luceti's new hermit forever. even you need company. ]

Good-at-fighting monk guys. Well, at least you've got eyes. Eyeless fighting monks might've been a problem.

[But back to that hand, which she can't help but keep an eye on because--wow.] How does that thing work, anyway?

[ that made him laugh, mostly because he knew of jedi who were of species that didn't have eyes. he shook his head and held up his flesh hand. ]

Not when you've got the Force on your side. I could find blindfolded, if necessary.

[ he looks back to the hand, as well. ]

Nerve impulses. It's connected at the base to the remaining tissue. All I have to do is think about moving the arm as you normally would with a real one and it moves in much the same capacity...just cybertronically and not biologically.

Blindfolded? [Buffy looks momentarily impressed before she smothers the wide-eyed expression with a more focused curiousity.]
