Well I'll be honest. I just wasn't sure, I mean, it Seemed like a good idea. Man was it!
lightonthesill offered to throw me a "birthday party" at the Just off Broadway as a way to offer a fun, warm and safe audience for her Beginning Burlesque class. I said "sure I'm in". Thinking "I would so not want anyone one to see me knit after one lesson."
Well these women just blew me away. 7 at least, forgive me if I lost count, did original solo numbers that they put together in less than a week and they were all great!
I mean, they had presence, confidence, choreography and personality. I whooed myself hoarse (thank god for scotch)
Not to lessen all of the amazing numbers, but seriously
rougewench's performance was professional quality. I'm not sucking up, I already have the job. Just fantastic.
The friends that showed did not fail me, a great audience even though we took long breaks, it really was a party atmosphere. I'm so blessed to have this kind of fun come tap me on the shoulder. Thank you all of you.
And to the performers of last night, I admire you all, bravery, talent and class! You made it look so fun! I KNOW it wasn't that easy! Congratulations, on a wonderful debut.
