my classes this semester rock. being rejected from the bfa first time around gave me time to get gen.ed.s out of the way as well as the dreaded semester of development of drama I. colarko....*shudder*....but i am now under way with acting, voice, movement and two-o-eight. for anyone who knows the credit hours involved, you may realize that it does not equal the number of hours needed for me to retain my full-time status which so wonderfully keeps me insured. so with my corresponding decision to get involved in the magnificent Month in Moscow program, i decided that a russian language class would fill the hole beautifully, and it does. all theatre classes and russian. amazing.
on top of this i have been cast in "a hatful of rain" in the studio theatre as well as the shakespeare tour, both of which directed by matt foss. sweetness. hatful met last night for the first read through and the cast looks like a hell of a lot of fun. no horse-faces, no outrageous egos (aside from cal (but his is a kind i don't really mind)). shakespeare will start monday, meeting three times a week for this semester then going out to area high schools next semester, so i will be occupied, guaranteed, for the entire year. plus i get paid for it. moreso than just these though, i have talked to colarko (yeah, i know, shudder) due to his looking for an undergrad male to understudy three roles and actually have a solid small part in "biloxi blues" and the hilberry. for more acting i will put up with him, plus this will also pay (unless they changed that from previous years). the only issue seems to be that there runs a great risk of conflict that i can't get around, so this last ones no definite thing. i'll know soon enough though.
good classes, good people in the classes, good season ahead....fantastic.
later.
