As I was writing in here the other evening Clay Aiken (the cat) thought it would be a very good idea to go behind my computer desk and in doing so he unplugged the cords and the computer shut off. Therefore my entry was erased and thats too bad because it was EPIC!
The long and short of it was that I got to meet some ladies off the Farthest Outpost board at the LA Book Fest. I got a new Viggo Mortensen book which brings the count to three (which leaves only about three or four to go).
Most importantly I got to meet my favorite author. Francesca Lia Block was doing a signing. I hadn't known she was going to be there until I saw a sign up at the Book Soup booth. She is one of the reasons I made a zine. She has a book called Zine Scene she put out. I told her the book had given me a starting point for my zine. I gave her a copy of ¡Viva Invierno! that I happened to have in bag. I told her how rad I thought she was, etc. It was the most awesome thing ever because I never thought I'd have had a chance to actualy meet her, and the opportunity just fell into my lap. I was excited, like whoa.
I went to a balloon fest today. That's right. You heard me. A balloon fest. Oh man, it was barrels of fun. My mother really thought it would be a good idea to go. But it wasn't really. However we went to Rainforest Cafe afterwards, so I don't count the day as a total loss. I also went to the Disney Store in Downtown Disney and tried to use my gift card to buy something and they said it's only good at the stores at the mall. What a rip-off.
