Poll: Sometimes, boys make me want to pull my hair out in fistfuls. And scream! Anyone else?

Banging my head against the wall is more my style.

But it's probably just because I have less hair than you do.

You see, I bang my head against the wall for calculus. :) It's a bit more serious. Pulling out my hair is simultaneously less painful and more dramatic.

I can see how you wouldn't want to pull all your hair out, right when it's getting long enough, too.

By the way, am I boy enough to somehow affect a neutralization of your boy problems?

Thank you very much for your offer, but it's not the sort of problem that needs neutralization, really, I don't think.

It's a lovely thickheaded stubborn nearly-suicidal one who will not listen to me when I insist his life has value. I'm very good at comforting girls, but a bit helpless with guys.

Comforting can be tough. I usually just try to be as honest as possible, which rarely works.

See, if I'm as honest as possible, I'm "delusional" - ever gotten that? And shaking him does not help. I usually make him go get comfort food or do something fun, but that only helps sometimes.

I still feel quite guilty about all the comfort I absorbed from other people without being able to show genuine appreciation back when I was depressed.

Perhaps you should put him on a plane to Australia.

You know, comfort is something freely given, and you shouldn't feel guilty - I think everyone has a time when that happens.

Now, there's an idea - major life change! I'd put him on a plane to Australia if I could. :)
