In all the work being done with working on getting a planet to establish a colony on, Teddy hadn't been paying much attention to the days on the calender he brought. It was difficult to recall when a day had passed without the sunlight or even a normal 24 hours to mark it out here

Chad was seriously about to choke a bitch. With the weird filming schedule of the show, he'd actually been in the house for several weeks, despite the first episode only airing this week, and it was starting to have the desired effect of making everyone get a little stir-crazy. He had told the other models that he needed to use the phone tonight, but Viki was talking forever, about Dios knows what, and it caused this great big dramatic thing. And the rub was that normally Chad wouldn't even care, but today was....important.

"Fine! Here!" Viki slammed the door behind her. "Have it!"

"Thanks!" Chad grunted back, slammed the door behind him even harder and just about made the whole house shake.

...No one was going to usurp any of Chad's phone time after that.

He settled into the chair in the little booth and dialed a very important number.

Teddy rubbed his forehead, not wanting to know what was going wrong now but answering anyway. "Ch'rith, I thought I asked for no one to disturb me."

There was a long, long pause, because that was no where near the response Chad had expected.

"....No one?"

"...Chad?"

Oh, he should not be so damn happy to hear his voice. It hadn't been that long.

"Happy birthday, Teddy."

Terrifying emperors did not wibble over that after a long and bad day. So clearly he didn't do anything of the sort. "You remembered. I almost didn't."

"I almost didn't get the chance to call," Chad said. "Phone's a hot commodity here. I owe you a night out or something once I get outta here."

Teddy just grinned. "You owe me more than just a night. And I owe you about the same at this point."

[senor_chado]

"But it's not my birthday," Chad said, missing the point. Of course.

"I know, I know," Teddy said. "How are things going there?"

[senor_chado]

"Ugh," Chad grunted.

But it was a Chad grunt, so it said an awful lot, doing an amazing job of conveying fatigue and cabin fever and bitchy models for just a grunt.

"Can I ask for the gossip? It's not like I can post spoilers online."

[senor_chado]

"I think," Chad whispered, lest anyone hear, "Viki's totally the bitchy one. Sometimes I guess it really isn't just the editing."

"Should I think about sending someone to check if she's an evil alien?" Teddy joked.

"She does kind of look like one," Chad admitted. "But not as much as that last ANTM winner."
