Sure, the solar year out here was completely different and this was just a normal day to anyone else, but Teddy and Chad knew it was special so... a very small celebration was in order.

Very small.

"What?" Chad asked, still trying to put hats on the cats. Don't ask where he got them; it was a great mystery. "Celebrating New Years?"

"And all the other holidays," Teddy added, wondering how long it would take Galliano to eat that hat.

Not very long, probably, considering how he started to try to get it off as soon as Chad had it on.

"Why can't you still celebrate them here?" Chad wondered, especially since he fully intended to, even if the ceremonies would be small and private like this. He actually kind of preferred it, anyway.

"There are probably other ones I have to learn."

"It's not like remembering New Years or Christmas takes that much brain power, though. And we can make time. Even if it's just, like, five minute Christmas, or something."

Teddy chuckled. "We could confuse people with, like, mistletoe."

[senor_chado]

"Especially," Chad said, "if we could import some of that pushy mistletoe from back home."

[notthehulk]

"...they might rebel at that."

[senor_chado]

"Okay, okay," Chad grunted. "Just regular mistletoe. Explaining it would probably get some great expressions."

Teddy snorted, grabbing his arm to pull Chad in for a kiss. "You get to explain it. I have to remain all royal and aloof."

Mmmm, kiss. Chad let himself be pulled in easily, holding himself there in the kiss a little longer before replying.

"You? Royal and aloof?" It was said with admiration, and a little bit of a grin.

"That's what royalty is, right?"

[senor_chado]

"Usually," Chad agreed. "It'll be interesting to see you pull it off."

Teddy nodded quickly, taking a deep breath. "You can give me advice. Looking all bored and model-like."

Chad didn't even think of it like that. "Just remember," he said, "to smile with your eyes."

[notthehulk]

"...smile with my eyes," Teddy repeated. "I'll work on that."
