[After a night of confusion, anger, and just plain being lost, Ashelin's managed to make it back to her room in one piece, safe and sound, intact, except for pieces in her mind. Damn hallucinations.
Comm clicks on, there's momentary silence save shuffling. Seems Ashelin's fidgeting, or something like it.There are some days when I remember that I

Forget the 'sweetheart' part. You know--it's--yeah
[FUCK YOU REDD.]

[Ouch. That actually sort of hurts a little.]
I'm more like him than I thought. Than I think.
[She pauses.]
You can call me that.
Reply
I'll call ya whatever you like.
[...sorry, he doesn't mean to sound so familiar fffffffRedd.]

I'm not sure it's a good idea for me to be wandering about right now. There's this whole lack of direction thing going on and it's sort of pissing me off. Not like I don't know how to get to you.
[Really, he's just across the way.]

Fuckit. His sense of direction is fine. He hasn't experienced any tactile hallucinations yet. He knows her room is right around the corner from his. Without announcing it to her, he gets up and heads out of his room. Without his sight, he has to take things slow, but two rights later, he's reached the other hallway. Her door isn't the first one...it's the second one. He knocks, then picks up the comm again.]
The knocking is me. Think you can find the door?

Torn. You're such a smart ass.
[She has to say she appreciates him being a bit of a jerk. She goes to answer her door, turns off her comm, and tips her head to the side, even though he can't see her expression.]
Should you be walking around when you're blind?

[Smart ass through and through. He's smirking, looking in the direction of her voice, but just a ways past her with vacant eyes. He reaches for her and lightly takes her arm. The expression becomes closer to serious.]
Gonna need your help.
[He doesn't know her room well enough to navigate it on his own.]

Or maybe she doesn't have to be. Why is she thinking about stupid shit like this now?]
Yeah. Yeah. I know.
[So she escorts him to... her... bed. Yeah. That's safe. Ashelin helps him sit down, sits beside him. Why's he here? Is he worried about her? Or maybe he just wanted an excuse to see her, except not see her at all.]

Once on the bed, he lets go of her arm.]
Alright, tell me what's what. Why're you so worried?
Reply
Uh.
[Does she really have to talk about this? She inches a little away from him. Not much. Just a little to give him his space.]
I tried talking to Phoenix last night too. Something's really wrong with him. Hard not to worry. I was worried about you too. Blind people can't get around well without help. You never ask for help.
Get it?

You said you're worried about being something you don't want to be. Something you don't 'wear' well. What am I not getting?
[Because he's not getting it.]

I meant with this whole worrying thing. That's not me. None of this stupid stuff is. Me talking me being worried. Ugh.
I can't stop.
[She shakes her head.]
It's like you with what you've been saying too. There are just things that shouldn't be said and for whatever reason, we're saying them. Right? Doesn't it seem like that to you?

[FFF IN YOUR HEAD.
He palms his face.]
The captain's loosened our lips alright. Lookin' to make chaos.

[This comfort thing needs to go away. She leans over and rubs his shoulder gently. Is it the right thing to do?]
Loosened our lips. One hell of a way to say it. With that being the case, I'll lock myself up until it goes away. Assuming it does.

I didn't mean it like that. I can't even see how--how'm I 'sposed to kiss you like this--agh.
Yeah, locking in rooms. Sounding...a lot better than this right here.

Torn. You don't need eyes to see me. You never have.
[Having his company isn't bad, though.]
I like keeping an eye on you. I prefer it like this. Saves me some concern.
[Ffff. Shut up, Ashelin.]
