This, Ashelin, is an escape attempt. You cannot see it from here, but there's land to the west of us. It's visible from the cliffs.

[Picking up the other life vest, he slips it over his arms and fastens it across his chest. He's dressed as all the other swimmers are, with only a pair of swim trunks, so as to avoid drawing attention. Then he smiles slyly at her.]

Out of curiosity, what happens when we hit the land to the west? Not that you and I couldn't survive in it.
