I heard the warnings.

What's happened?

Next month marks a year.

[A pause, then a frustrated sort of sigh escapes him.] Why is it that some people stay for so long and others are only here for a few weeks?

She knew it was going to lure us out. [It should be noted that Usagi sounds ... tired. No perk in her voice.] She knew we wouldn't fight if she didn't involve innocents.

She's not healed. There was a moment where we thought it had worked, where she was there, but it quickly passed. I don't think she'll be trying anything soon, Jupiter injured her, and she looked shaken by what happened.

[That's not something he's used to hearing.]

... Can you find her, or has she gone into hiding?

We haven't looked for her, not yet.

Well, what are you waiting for?

You never give the enemy time to recover. That's the stupidest thing you could ever do!

W-What? [You've just thrown her off guard, Zoi-Zoi.]

Usagi, by leaving an enemy alone you give it time to recover and regroup. [He's speaking through gritted teeth. Trying to keep it simple.] If you catch an enemy when it's still weak, or bombard it with attacks and give it no time to heal itself, you stand a better chance of victory.

Do you really know nothing about battle at all?

I--Uh... [And now she isn't sure what to say.] Is that how it's supposed to work?

... [There's an audible slap as his hand hits his forehead.] How did an idiot like you defeat the Dark Kingdom?

Optimism, perseverance, and lots of luck.

Wonderful.

That isn't going to work here. It shouldn't have worked there, either. Don't try that strategy again.

It should work everywhere! The good guys always win, don't you know that? It's like an unwritten rule or something.

What should I do, then? I don't want her to get hurt, and if I use the crystal too much I get exhausted. Even after I tried just once, I was tired.

It didn't work for Nephrite, now did it? [Snap snap snap!] Don't be an idiot. The world doesn't work like that.

Yuan was talking about merging Filial magic with our natural magic. Have you tried experimenting with that?

[Your words cut so deep! WHY YOU HURT HER SO, ZOI?]

I--Uh, haven't, but I guess I really should try. It's hard to see the outcome without having someone to heal, though.

I could probably make a practice dummy. [Is he suggesting making a person into a youma here? Yes, yes he is.]

Oh? [Yes. Usagi does not get what you're hinting at.]
