Well you need to make a character, there are all kinds of characters that you can be. You can be a wizard or a fighter or a bard or a cleric or lots of different things.

Then other people make characters, too. And then you and the people you are playing with have some sort of a challenge where you explore things and fight monsters. You figure out if you succeed at what you want to do by rolling dice and adding numbers.

Would you be okay with being a sorceror? Being a sorceror is like being a wizard, but it's a little easier for new players to play a sorceror. Wizards have to prepare spell lists. Sorcerors don't have to do that.

Well, okay. You might need someone to help you out with your spell list, then. That can get complicated.
