Yesterday I moved a pile of old boxes and old homework and some clothes that had been sitting on the floor for, like, three or four months, while I was looking for some spare parts for my latest invention (I don't really know what it is yet, but I'm sure it will be amazing

Can you do math? You have to be able to add numbers to play.

I can add numbers! I'm not stupid!

Well okay then. You can play.

Yay! How do you play?

Well you need to make a character, there are all kinds of characters that you can be. You can be a wizard or a fighter or a bard or a cleric or lots of different things.

Then other people make characters, too. And then you and the people you are playing with have some sort of a challenge where you explore things and fight monsters. You figure out if you succeed at what you want to do by rolling dice and adding numbers.

Apple Kid has seen a future of trying to explain 'no you didn't prepare that spell' to a 6 year old

Would you be okay with being a sorceror? Being a sorceror is like being a wizard, but it's a little easier for new players to play a sorceror. Wizards have to prepare spell lists. Sorcerors don't have to do that.

You said I could be a wizard. I want to be a wizard.

Well, okay. You might need someone to help you out with your spell list, then. That can get complicated.

Maybe I can make you an invention to keep track of it for you.
