238, morning

Angel was up, he'd walked Sean, he'd hit a few stores, and now he was making breakfast.

The current menu was coffee, tea, eggs, toast, oranges, waffles, and he was now debating pancakes.

It's possible he was working just a little too hard at this.

John wakes up from his well, he's lost count by now, night of restless sleep.

"Am I rooming with Martha Stewart now?"

"I'm not blond," Angel pointed out. Because he was a good roommate, he punctuated this statement by holding out a cup of coffee for John to take.

"Aww, you're so nice," John mumbles, taking the coffee but not getting up right away. "I'm gonna leave you lots of things in my will. Good things, even."

Angel blinked. "You're dying?"

"No, no," John says quickly. "I was trying to be funny. Guess it's too early for that."

"Coffee," Angel advised. He looked nervous. "So, uh, somebody might be coming over for breakfast."

"Yay company," John says, taking a drink from the cup. "That's fine. I got an early morning class anyway."

"It's Bel," Angel added.

"Okay," John says, climbing out of bed. "Ask him if he knows how to sew yet."

Angel relaxed by a hair to see that John wasn't freaking out about this.

Then he heard what John said.

"Sew? Like clothing?"

"Yeah huh," he answers, rubbing his eyes and stretching. "Last time I saw him, we were talking about a kimono for class and I let slip that I can sew. A novice sewer," John amends. "Maybe he's learned since then."

"Oh," Angel said. He went back to making waffles. "Why did you need a kimono? Was this some thing for Skeeter?"

"Oh, not me. Him," John says. "I think Bel needed it for a class of some kind. Sociology maybe? Anyway. I trust you, Angel. I won't be freaking out."

"I appreciate that," Angel said. He ladled more batter onto the waffle maker. He also not too subtly gave one of the cooked waffles to Sean, because Angel spoiled his pet shamelessly. "He's trying to turn his back on the whole evil thing. It won't be easy. The more people showing him that he can have friends if he's good, the better."

"Good for him," John says honestly. "He won't get any flack from me. Just be glad Aeryn's not..." He stops that thought quickly and shakes his head. "He's welcome in here."

Angel gave a small nod to indicate he knew what John had been about to say, and why John hadn't finished the sentence. "Thanks. Hopefully everybody can be as understanding as you are about it."
