Friday October 30th Big Daddy and I went to Six Flags for their Halloween Haunt. First time I had ever been to one, so I was really nervous and excited. Also, Big Daddy wanted me to break down my fear and ride a roller coaster. I was beside myself with fear but for him I am willing to do anything.
We got to Six Flags before the park opened and went to preferred parking so we were right in-front of the gate. SUPER cool. We waited then got in line and soon were in the park. Everything totally intimidated me, but Big Daddy was so patient. First we rode the tea cups. My all time favorite ride, he spun us so fast I actually got a bit dizzy despite taking stuff for motion sickness. Then I got on the scrambler and was eying the wooden coaster near the go carts. I didn't think it looked too bad. There was also the tower drop but Big daddy said that one would be worse than the coaster.
I finally worked up the nerve and walked UP the ramp (not walked and not DRAGGED) and got on the coaster and the climb up was okay but I hate heights so I kept looking at my feet. Then the drop. My lap bar didn't go all the way down because of the fanny pack I had on so I Felt myself RISE out of the seat and that was it. I started crying for Tom and was instantly ready to get off. He was so good he wrapped his arms around me and held me. He said I made it SO much worse by keeping my eyes closed but when I opened them everything was flying to my face and I just lost it. When the ride was over my lap bar wouldn't come back up because I could not push it down enough and I went into panic mode. Someone came and helped me. I was shaking like a leaf when I got off. But I rode the coaster for him. Maybe next year I will try it again.
Now here comes the rant about Six Flags. They have this deal where you get a big reusable cup for like 12.99 and the day you get it you get a wrist band good to get free refills all day. Big Daddy got it for me as a present and we were sharing the drink. The guy working at the cash drawer was new obviously and the manager was there assisting him. So I noted the price was less for the drink but I thought cool they gave us a deal. WRONG. They charged us for something else instead of the drink. WTF?? Not to mention the wrist band they gave me, was from SEPTEMBER 15th. I did not know it had a date on it or else I would have said HOLD UP fix this. So when I went to get my free refill the lady gave us crap. I should have marched back to the other stand and gave them what for but it was by Gotham Park part and we were all the way down near Skull Island. GRRR.
Then they had these light up stands selling blinking things. While we were waiting for the Haunted Train Ride one lady came up with her cart and I asked how much this neat blinking skull was and she said 8 bucks. I was like meh maybe if I Still want it I will get it later. We were getting ready to leave the park and I saw another cart and decided I DID still want the skull and went to get it, this OTHER cart person charged me 10? WTF can't they figure it out which price it was. Another person said he had no idea as he didn't have those on his cart.
So my review of Six Flags, rides were good, the lines were small since it was a friday night ( there were a bunch of screaming girls which got OLD fast) but the customer service was CRAP. The one thing that made up for it was Big Daddy was so proud of me and right before we left we rode the Rodeo like two times in a row and the guy kept saying we could ride again. Very nice ride operator. Good for him. It was SO freaking much fun!!!
