Wow, today has been really really fun! Chris woke me up at 6 on the dot to go empty our stockings and open our presents for each other. He got me this really cool jacket from Old Navy. It's really awesome and warm as all get out. After our parents got up and my mom had gone for her walk, we started opening presents.
Our grandma got Chris and I each an "infant goblet" I think they're called. They are silver goblets that were giving to children at birth when our great grandparents were alive. My grandma got inspired when our cousins were born a few months back (twin girls...can't wait to see them!!). She found one that matched each of our cousins and ourselves and had our names etched into the goblets next to the names of the people who they were made for. She included within her letter a little history about the people they belonged to. My mom doesn't realize that I actually appreciate these things, and I can understand why when every time our grandma sends things she says how valuable they are and to have our mom put them in her safety deposit box. HOWEVER, I really like hearing about old family history. Like a couple of weeks back at our Green Street vocal gig, we were getting ready to leave and Sam's grandma was telling me about how there was a man by the name of Jabez Bostwick who worked with John D. Rockefeller , and sure enough I looked it up and he was a member of Rockefeller's competition in the beginning and later became treasurer of Standard Oil(I THINK). And THAT is really cool, plus we have this really big and very old book of members of the Bostwick family and adjoined families and so I'm going to look in there and se if he's in it.
Anyway, after that we opened up the rest of our presents. I opened up my present from Sam (THANKS BABY!). She got me this really cool Parker Calligraphy pen set. My mom got me Vans slip-ons and a pair of 501's along with a GREAT selection of chocolate :) . After presents I took a nice long hot shower and ate some chocolate and doodled around with my pen; I made sam a card and experimented with the different nibs.
At 12:00 Sam and her family came and picked me up and took me with them to their family Christmas gathering. I was nervous in the beginning but I had a BLAST. It was really fun and aside from the fact that she's really overprotective, I like Sam's mom. She's really nice and I know she only wants the best for her kids, and at least they're not running around the streets at 2:30 in the morning with all those wierdos with the drugs and such......
When we got there I met her cousins(cousins, right Sam?) and then we went out back and jumped on this hugegantic trampoline. Her cousin is in gymnastics among many other things. We jumped on that thing for what seemed like forever, then we ate. After eating we went back out and me and Jon wrestled and then fought over a ball for a while.. After that we went upstairs and played Madden in her cousin Jack's room. I suck soo bad ....i was just getting used to playing it with Corey on PS2 and then Jack has a GameCube...*DAMNIT!* oh well, Jon got us tied before we had to leave so we saved face...even tho losing by anything to a 9 year old is still sad.
OH yeah! And Sam's parents got me a %30 gift card to StarBucks*score*
Around 5 we left, and the ride back was relaxing. Her cousins live in Brea so it was about a 45 minute ride. I got some sleep which was nice. Now I'm just waiting to eat my second Christmas dinner with my own family and HOPEFULLY later I'll be going up to Sam's to watch Napoleon Dynamite *crosses fingers and squints really hard*
