My Dearest Friend...

1913-2005
Age 92, on Monday, June 20, 2005 of Mt. Washington, wife of the late Thomas J. Whalen; mother of Robert (Diane) Whalen and Arlene (Larry) Schilling; grandmother of Jeffrey and Jane Schilling and Chad (Holly) Whalen; sister of Anne Barnes and the late William and Peter Bolick and Jenny Snizik; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

My Dearest Friend and Grandmother died last week and although I had her in my life for a very long time, the sting of this loss is almost unbearable. I loved her so very much! She was my roommate, my friend and my gram... We laughed and joked and often she just made others laugh with her Irish whisper and her bad hearing...
Her last months here on this Earth were spent in painful unrest... I am glad she is no longer suffering... I am glad that she had such a full life... I am so thankful that she was able to meet a lot of you and share in your goodness...
I wish now that I can live my life to the fullest like Bessie and to some day be reunited with her...
I hope that others can live like she did... live by her example... yes, she was a little snobby and a little back dated but given that she was born in 1913 I think that is all right... She was tall and beautiful, kind and full of spunk... full of life... every one sang her praises...
