I have learnt silence from the talkative, toleration from the intolerant, and kindness from the unkind; yet strange, I am ungrateful to these teachers. Kahlil Gibran (1883 - 1931)
Perhaps this quote isn't quite fitting for what I am trying to verbalize, but it comes close... "I have learnt silence from the talkative..." best describes the feeling I get when reading posts from past friends... I was told once that Live Journal was to be used as a means of keeping in touch with friends and essentially having a good time and not to be serious... yet everyday that I login I find more "serious" drama than a blasted soap opera...
I chose this quote to say that one's personal life should be kept that... personal... not something that is spewed all over the internet...
There should be things amongst friends that are sacred... there should be things between lovers that are private... there is nothing private about an internet site where you talk about your sex life... it is sad an pathetic and it only makes my case stronger... learn [learnt] silence from the talkative...
I think it a shame... a tragic shame...
I also think it a shame that certain people feel it necessary to take something that some one else has done or thought of and make it their own... make it their own thought or their own idea... they only do this to add to their drama... make people think they are more intelligent than they actually are... make people feel sorry for them...
I would just like to say, SHUT UP!!!
