Christmas Wishlist

Nov 13, 2005 14:04

STEP ONE
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Harry icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post so that the holiday joy will spread.

STEP TWO
- Surf around your friends list (or friend's friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
- Once a wish has been granted, it will be crossed off my list.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

----

Okay, anyone who doesn't have my address can poke me for it, but I think everyone should by now. I will start coming after people and sporking you if you don't do these, as there's usually something I can do on them that doesn't cost mega bucks. Not that I mind spending mega bucks on anyone, but I'll end up running out of money or something.

Read the above. If you are reading this now, and don't do a wishlist, or tell me what you want for Christmas, I reserve my right to spork you.

My Wishlist

1. Anything from my Amazon Wishlist. Costs money, I'd never ask any of you to buy me anything that costed money if you didn't have to, yadayada, but some people insist, so there it is.
2. A Christmas card from everyone, if at all possible. I don't think I've ever got a Christmas card from abroad before, so that would make me majorly happy, and to have one from people I haven't seen in a while. I always manage to forget someone for Christmas cards. That's what I'm going to do next anyway, a Christmas card list. I feel Christmassy all of a sudden - so shoot me.
3. Photographs. Since I switched rooms, I've got quite a lot of wall space, and it's got some photographs of people and some really pretty things, but there's seriously loads of wall space on there. Posters are nice too, but there's people I haven't actually got photographs of. However much you hate photographs of yourselves (IE: about 95% of my flist), it would make me extremely happy. If not of yourself, then something pretty.
4. A fandomy background or icon. Preferably LOST, VM, or HP, and shippy. Christmas themed would make me bouncy.. it is Christmas after all.
5. Music. If you know me even a little bit at all, you'll know I'm a complete music addict. Even if it's just a few songs I'll like or a hundred, music makes me happy. YSI is God, most of the time. If you really want to make me happy, mix CDs rule (la la la...), but music in general is fab.
6. Post. For everybody who's at smelly university or in other countries or that I just plain don't see very often, there's something about recieving a real letter that just beats the hell out of the internet. Maybe it's the fact that you actually have to think over writing a reply. I used to love having penpals.
7. Snow. Seriously. We always used to have snow when I was little, and we never seem to have it now I'm big enough to want to play in it. I want one of my friends to have a snowfight with, I want to be able to go outside and play around in it and freeze, and I really want to see Ginny in it, because she'll just be allowed out for Christmas.
8. I want another Something Corporate album in '06. It's gonna be a pretty cool entertainment year I think, because there's films I want to see and the new Ataris album and stuff coming out, but I'd really love another SoCo album.
9. To see Rose and Nona again.
10. I have Ginny. Seriously, my number ten wish would have been a dog. I know she's gonna drive me crazy over the next few weeks with teething and puppy training and all that kinda stuff, but if I don't get anything else for Christmas..
