Whew! Up to date!

So from Betty's beach, we headed through Ravensthorpe and out to a tiny town called Lake King. We set up for 2 nights in the towns caravan park. We've never been in a park like this one before.....it is fairly small, with no caretakers which is unusual...just an honesty system. However, the facilities were very good, all the facilities were lovely & clean, and there was a fairly well equipped "camp" kitchen. There were 3-4 "onsite" vans, all empty and only one other van camped for the night. By nightfall, there were 4 of us altogether. It was very quiet. The next day, we left the van and drove out to another tiny town of Hyden, and on to the local tourist spot - Wave Rock. When we arrived back at the van park, we found we were the ONLY ones there. So we had the place to ourselves. We decided that was a good excuse for baking cakes. The camp oven had a full oven, so we grabbed our cake mixes (it's much easier just to carry packet mixes, than all the ingredients required to bake cakes)and bake ourselves some supplies. Which brings me to the NOW! I am typing this whilst sitting in bed, Dave snoring quietly beside me. Woo hoo UP TO DATE! Oh, and I am also playing online scrabble & getting slaughtered LOL

Dave "hanging 10 at Wave Rock:

On the top of the rock, you will notice a concrete "fence", this was built on the rock many years ago, it catches rain water, and directs it to the dam.

Also in the same area as Wave Rock, is Hippo Yawn:

"Standing on the outside looking in"

Dave was standing on the Hippos tonsils I believe:

Then on the way home we spotted this little fellow:

In the little town of Hyden, they are gallantly trying to encourage tourists to their town, this is one of their "attractions":

There were a whole lot of these, all made out of junk....very clever really, this represented "Hydens first power station"

Then it was home to do some baking:
The camp kitchen:

and we made a self-saucing pudding for our desert tonight!:

All in all, a pretty good day. Though Dave is still struggling with his health. Let's see what tomorrow brings shall we.

Goodnight all, and to all a goodnight!!! :)
