Wow we've been in some fantastic places these past few days. Last time I posted it was Wilsons Promotory. We've since hit the Great Ocean Road, but we had a couple of overnight stops on the way:

I've had a glass or two of Rawson's Retreat... :)

Beautiful pictures - want to dangle my feet in those tide pools.

Do you think we should send a copy of the photo to Penfolds (the winemakers) :)

These are some of your most beautiful photos yet, which is really saying something. I'm with sahlah, I want to dip my toes too!

Thanks Matt. I know....rock pools are my favourite places to "swim". I am a little scared of the ocean, especially in the unpatrolled beaches, and I sooooo desperately wanted to climb in, but the water was freezing. In Queensland, the ocean is quite a bit warmer than in the southern states, and so whilst people do swim, it's just too cold for us weakies!

The tide pools are amazing. My favorite photo, though, is the wine and sunset one. Wow!!

Sounds like you are having a ball! :D

I agree about sending it to the wine-makers! It's ideal! :)

I know they are ultimately wild animals, but are koalas basically gentle animals? Their slow moving ways make me think they are.

Thought of you the other night as i watched a repeat of David Letterman. He had a bit from a new restaurant near his studio called Pie Face. Featuring meat and fruit pies from Australia,

Koalas are very cute. During the day they are generally very sleepy, you really only see them moving about in the early evenings when they eat, or change trees. They are very placid normally, however if you hear them fighting each other during the night (they are very territorial and don't appreciate another Koala climbing their tree) they sound like wild boar!!! They do have very sharp claws. I am sure there'd be a lot of Australians who have never been lucky enough to see a Koala in the wild, especially in Queensland where we come from - there are some there, but not a lot. So I feel very lucky that I have seen not just the Koala, but almost every Australian animal in the wild, including a Tasmanian Devil.
