Look a post with content! Well, some content.
I did a bunch of things for the first time this weekend, I:
- went to
Lucky Strike Friday night and bowled with my boss and a coworker. The food was okay, the bowling was okay, the waitress' skirts were very short. The number people that brought their kids to an upscale bar/bowling alley on a Friday surprised me.
- helped my brother move. It has been 23 years since he moved in so I've never helped him move before. His new place is bigger, with a huge fireplace and sunroom.
- sang in a Japanese Karaoke bar in Chinatown. McGillin's was showing some retarded sports event and the place was fairly crowded. So, it took me a bit of time to steal a seat, and order the fish (The tilapia was tasty). Eventually
anerda,
kemidra and
boutell arrived. After realizing the stupid sport wasn't going to ever end,
boutell and I took for Japas. They were still playing the game, but the place was fairly empty and we didn't push it.
Karaoke in Philly is all done the same way. You stand up in front of everyone and sing your song. No cover, no charge. Karaoke at Japa's karaoke lounge is done the way I understand they do it in Japan. If you sit in the bar/lounge area, you pay a buck a song and the mic comes to you, and you sing from your seat while the words are displayed in
kanji and English. The song selection is mostly in Japanese, there is a thin list in the back for us gaijin, but both
boutell and I found something to sing. (I chose Ziggy Stardust as the song I've never done before). We talked to the staff and they told us the rooms you can rent by the hour have a larger English song list. The place was clean, and nice looking. We could easliy go back for a birthday party or something. Although I wondered why the lights in the bathroom needed to be so dim...
Their sushi was cheap and tasty (although I really didn't need to eat a second meal).

Being to lazy on Sunday to exercise was something is unfortunately something I've been doing to much of recently.
