[A little distance north of the village, towards Cherry Blossom Tree hill, a large, unconscious creature blocks the path further north. A beached whale this far from the ocean? Wait, no, it's just a New Feather... A rather bulbous humanoid, splayed out on his back and sleeping like a baby. Not for long, though.]
Aaaargh!
[He wakes with a start, sitting up and being immediately greeted by a sharp, searing pain in his back. He clutches his head for a moment, trying to fight off the dizzy feeling rushing through it.]
A-argh... What happened? And where in the world am I? I... I don't remember a thing! [He struggles to his feet, feeling pretty sore all over. Little does he know, a little book on the ground nearby is recording his every word in audio form.] And my back... Wait. I remember. Knuckles... I guess he caught up to me after all! But why would he leave me in a forest, and- W-why am I naked?!
[After coming to his senses, Eggman has become aware of the light rain falling on his naked torso. Thankfully, whoever has done this has left him with a pair of light fitting cotton pants, though they're not quite long enough to cover his spindly legs.]
This couldn't have been Knuckles, or any of Sonic's friends. Grrrr! When I find out who did this to me...! [The Doctor starts to stomp angrily, but quickly regrets this, his back hurting more.] O-ow! [He reaches behind himself, touching his back and feeling-]
Feathers? [It hurts a bit when he touches them, but he continues to try and do so anyway, letting out grunts of pain every now and then.] Are these... wings? What's going ON here?
[Eggman collapses back onto the ground, shuffling backwards into a sitting position under a tree, sheltering from the drizzle. As he does, his hand touches something.]
What's this? A book? [He picks it up and begins to examine its pages, not taking note of the cover's title.] Looks like some kind of communications device disguised as an ordinary book. Did I drop this?
