Romance of a Weasley
Ron sat in the great hall, time to make this look good for their sakes.
"I hate that stupid git. Wish he'd sit on something poisons that one." He said over his meal. Harry and Hermione never even bothered to look up. They knew who he was talking about with out even bothering. Draco Malfoy. He'd hated him since they'd come to Hogwarts two years ago and now it was their third year and he hated him just the same. They still hated him but there was something more
They couldn't put their fingers on it, but there was something more to this fight where Ron was concerned. They'd never seen him and Malfoy fight so passionately. And lately it'd been threatening to move beyond name calling. Like they were working off of some morbidly twisted script that neither of them was in on. But that couldn't be it, could it?
"Ron, leave him alone and he'll leave you alone." Hermione didn't even bother looking up from her toast as she buttered it.
"Me! That dirty little snake in the grass is who started all of this!" Ron spit back. In his mind he added '..and he didn't remember to send me flowers...' But he wasn't about to say that out loud.
"We don't even know why he does the things he does." She added as if she was sticking up for Draco. A slight twinge of panic ran through Ron.
"He's a wanker and a pain in my ass." Ron said looking angry. That last part was kind of true, he'd wanted Draco there for a long time, but he would do it. Slimy little git. Things would be so much easier if he'd just tell his friend's why he was acting like this. And acting was the right words. Draco had told him they had to act as if nothing had changed so that no one would be the wiser. But quick feels, hurried kisses, and a couple hand jobs weren't cutting it this year. Last year two 12 year olds in a closet had been enough for Ron, but now he wanted more. He wanted to share his love with Draco, show him he really did love him. But they hardly had any time together.
Just then a black owl swooped down and dropped a red piece of paper in front of Ron. He took it and read what it said.
"Eneth calls to the stars to bring to the place of meeting the Valiant ones."
"What's that mean?" Harry sat reading over Ron's shoulder.
"Um.. it's just something between me and the twins. I can't tell you more." He got up quickly and left them sitting there. Harry and Hermione looked at one another and just shock their heads. Ron ran to the nearest owl post in the castle. Quickly on a piece of green paper he scribbled a note and sent it off to Draco.
Crabb and Goyle were sitting on either side of him but he'd trained them long ago never to read anything sent to him. So when the gray owl sent dropped green piece of paper no one even looked. He'd gotten to the great hall late this morning so they knew better then to test him. He looked at it in the most disinterested manor anyone had ever seen.
"Valient souls cry out to the Dragon riders, mount up to the heavens and bring with you all that holds man kind together with you."
'Good, he's finally getting into this.' Draco rubbed his chin. So Ron wanted him to bring a condom to the star gazing tower. He could do that, he was loving this game of their's, pushing the limits. He quickly walked out of the great hall with out ever saying a word. Then he proceeded to the astronomy tower where he found one last note, written on green paper.
"The pure of heart are made mortal by Dragon's love, But every moment of that mortality is made worth it by the pur of heart's love of the Dragon."
He smiled at that. So Ron did love him. He knew Ron knew how he felt but he'd been wondering if Ron was really ready for anything or if he was just play around. But that note told him no matter what happens Ron loved him. He picked the note up and folded it neatly into the pocket he had the other in along with the condoms he'd bought the last trip into Hogsmed. A single tear ran down his check as he entered the dark tower.
Since it was morning the tower was shut up, at night it opened revealing the night sky. But this time of morning it was dark. Draco made his way up the stairs and to the top. Once there his breath caught in his throat and he just stood there looking at the sight laid out before him. Ron was draped in a blanket only, candles were lit all around him and the room. He smiled at his lover, Draco loved that smile.
"I've been waiting..."
