SCARE Location
I had my meeting with the Civic Center Sales Director today. It went fantastic! The center seems almost designed for our use. It has a large ball room, two smaller ballrooms, 6 meetings rooms, a special events room and board room setup. They have A/V equipment we can use so important NPC speeches can be heard and ceremony speakers can be seen on projection screens that drop down from the ceilings. It has about 40,000 square feet of playing area with enough room for vendors to set up. If isn't enough room then we can get the exhibit hall for vendors and its about 50,000 square feet of space. She said that for a large convention, like 200-300 people she will get the 1st Cavalry Honor Guard to come out and put on a horseshow in authentic uniforms at the rodeo field on the complex. The hotel on the complex will be done my September 06, but the hotels in the area offer a shuttle service the < 2 miles to the convention center. She (Director) will mail me the final offer for the convention. I am so psyched about this I am willing to use my own money for the deposit so we can get the weekend that is available. We're still chatting about other activities the Cammies would like doing while in town. We can get internet hubs, phones so checkin can check approvals, help possible new members get cam numbers, etc etc. I wish I could find out some information about the OKC scare so I could see how this would compare.
