"I met the saddest family the other day."
"Did you now?"
"Yep. So sad. So sad. I just don't understand how so many bad things can happen to one family."
"That bad, huh?"
"You wouldn't believe me if I told ya. So much hardship."
"Like what?"
"Well, first there's the mother. She's only got one leg. Her name's Peg."
"Peg."
"Yep. Then there's her husband, who's quadriplegic. His name's Matt."
"Quadriplegic, you don't say."
"And their son is quadriplegic, too."
"Really."
"Yeah. We think he gets it from his dad."
"What's his name?"
"Bob. He's an olympic swimmer."
"A quadriplegic olympic swimmer."
"Yup. Just started a couple years ago. He made a big splash."
"I bet he did. There any more unfortunate souls in this cursed family?"
"Well, Bob's twin brother, of course. Also an athlete. Also quadriplegic."
"Really now? What're the odds? So what kind of athlete is he?"
"Long distance runner."
"Long distance runner."
"Yup."
"Dare I ask this one's name?"
"Skip."
"Of course it is."
"Finally, there's their uncle, Peg's brother. Poor guy, got in an accident, lost both his legs above the shin."
"And his name?"
"Neil."
"So let me see if I've got this right. You met a one-legged woman named Peg, her quadriplegic husband, Matt, their two sons, Bob the quadriplegic swimmer and Skip the quadriplegic runner, and their uncle who lost his lower legs in an accident, Neil."
"That's right."
"And where on Earth did you meet these people?"
"At a casino. They said they were feeling lucky."
