It was her first day, sort of. At least the whole first chance to really go in and see everything.
She was obscenely early, she realized, when she got down near the entrance. Obscenely. So she veered off for a coffee and pastry, figuring at least she needed to eat, have something to quell the nervousness that kept welling up.
She hadn't met anyone else, and how they'd feel about Jack just bringing her in like that she didn't know. They were a team, and she was an outsider who knew more about their boss than any of them did and that had to...do something, right?
Nibbling on her pastry, she made her way back to the fountain planning to perch on the edge and wait until a reasonable hour when she saw a familiar figure already there.
She froze, staring, like he was maybe some dream and part of her didn't even really believe he was there.
"Hi."
