Aravis was making terrible decisions today, apparently.
Not that normally inviting Mat to spend an evening with her was a bad idea, of course. But given her situation with Cor at the moment, this was probably not her most brilliant plan. However, she was staunchly not thinking about that -- since as far as she was concerned, that wasn't a situation at all.
So, tonight she had come back from Merlin's party and taken down her hair and removed her jewelry, lit a candle, and made her bed. Not that she expected it to stay that way for very long, but still. Once that was accomplished, she made herself comfortable with a book to wait.
