"This is it," Aravis said happily, gesturing to the room. "Wait for it." She glanced back behind her, then flicked a little button on the wall. "See? It's like magic!"

[for Aravis's guests, Karal, Karal's guests, and anyone else who's up for being amazed at electricity.]

:This is you room?: Florian said as he poked his head into room 413 and stopped short, not going in. :It is very crowded.:

"What do you--" He came up and stood at Florian's shoulder. "Oh, I see," he said, smiling, because he recognised those people who were making it crowded. "Hello!"

"Karal!" Aravis greeted happily. "...you've brought another horse! Hello to you too."

"Aravis! I would like you to meet my dear friend Florian. He is a Companion of Valdemar. Horse shaped, but not a horse," he explained. "He and Herald Talia and her Companion Rolan all came for the weekend!"

Aravis dropped into a curtsy for the second time that day. "It is my pleasure, sir."

Florian whickered and it sounded like a laugh. :The pleasure is mine, I assure you,: Florian replied, and ducked his head in a bow. :Karal told me his roommate was very gracious, and I see he was right.:

Aravis grinned. "Awww, Karal, you needn't lie about me. May I present my own guests, who Karal has already met -- the Lady Hwin of Narnia, and Prince Cor of Archenland."

Aravis liked sounding official.

Cor shot Aravis a look. "Just Cor, please." He bowed politely.

"Just Cor, then," she said, throwing a look back at him.

Florian bowed his head again. :Just Cor it is, then. And I am simply Florian. It's very good to meet you.:

"Likewise." Pleasantries over, Cor let himself fade into the background and went to investigate the bathroom.

Hwin bobbed her head graciously. "So happy to see you again, Karal. And Florian. It's a pleasure to meet other Talking Horses."

Florian looked astonished as he stretched his nose out, arching his neck, to greet Hwin. :I have never before met a Talking Horse! Companions are different from horses, though we look very similar. This is a very great pleasure, Hwin.:

Hwin touched her nose to his, too curious about this different-from-a-horse horse. "Goodness me! You're talking in my head," she regarding him with great interest then shook her mane almost coquettishly. "Don't go rummaging around in there!"

If anything, Florian arched his neck even more as their noses touched. :I give you my word I won't,: he replied, eyes bright with interest. :We can't talk the way you can, but we manage to make up for it in other ways.:

"You certainly do," Hwin agreed, looking with admiration at his conformation.
