Character
Name: Hinamori Momo
Series: Bleach
Timeline: Chapter 377
Canon Resource Links: Here!

Affiliation: Breeder!

Personality: In a nutshell, Momo is probably one of the nicest characters in Bleach. She is kind-hearted and easy going; she's very sociable with people and is very approachable. She is also very trusting, which could be considered naive and makes her an easy target to manipulate. She's portrayed to be quite impulsive, and has reserves of anger hidden in her personality that she doesn't often show unless she has to. Despite this, she has a strong sense of right and wrong though at times, she finds herself unable to handle situations where her loved ones are involved, leaving her feeling extremely conflicted. An example of this would be during her fight with Hitsugaya Toshiro, Captain of the 10th squad of Gotei 13 and childhood best friend, who had been framed for Aizen's murder by Aizen himself in a letter he had written for Momo before his death. Though she had known Toshiro longer than Aizen, she didn't question his declaration. Yet she had felt helpless in that she truly did not want to hurt Toshiro. It can be said that because of this, Momo is emotionally vulnerable, especially when it comes to Aizen.

Due to her devotion to Aizen, his betrayal caused a deep wound in her psyche. It took a very long time for her to accept that Aizen was not the same Aizen she knew so many years ago. Although in the current chapters, she has finally recovered enough to fight the Arrancar with her peers, it is still questionable whether or not she still believes that Aizen is a good person instead of the enemy, due to the fact that she still refers to him as "Aizen-taichou". Despite her weaknesses, Momo is strong when she needs to be and will not hesitate to put her life on the line to protect the people she cares about.

Basically, Momo is a sweet soul with an upbeat personality. It doesn't take much to keep her happy; as long as the people she cares about are safe, she couldn't ask for anything more. She has a warm personality that invites people to get to know her better no matter who they are. Occasionally, she tends to get worried a lot, yet she does her best not to show it as to not cause a burden to those who care about her. With Momo, it's always others before her and it carries into the way she tends to almost fuss around her friends, especially Hitsugaya, Renji, and Kira. Being Hitsugaya's friend since they were kids, Momo has always been protective over him, treating him much like a younger brother. After meeting Renji and Kira in the Academy, she continues to maintain her friendship with them despite the fact that they aren't in the same squad anymore; when Renji was moved up to Lieutenant of the 6th squad, she and Kira personally gave him the news with Momo urging him to find Rukia in the human world.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

+ Social and Leadership Skills: Momo is good with people and is generally very friendly. She is on good terms with most of the Captains in Soul Society and is friends with the lieutenants of each squad. Though she is a lieutenant herself, Momo looks out for her subordinates in her squad and treats everyone fairly.

+/- Loyalty: Momo is fiercely loyal to her friends and those she cares about. She would never forsake them and would never hesitate to put her life on the line for them. However, this also makes her easy to manipulate.

+/- Trust: She places all her trust and belief in the people who are important to her. Yet, this was also devastating when Aizen betrayed Soul Society and even tried to turn her against Hitsugaya.

+ Fast learner: Momo was actually one of the smartest people in her class during her Academy days. Her skills lied in Kido, Demon Arts, which is considered a difficult skill for students to learn as it requires a lot of focus and memorization. She mastered it pretty quickly though, and makes up for her lack of strength with it.

+ Strategist: In battle, Momo is actually rather resourceful. As she's not exactly the strongest fighter out there, she able to use things to her advantage. Most notably, she's able to combine kido spells and make her own to either entrap her enemy or distract them.

Pokemon
Starter: I'd really like to give her an Eevee, but if not, Charmander please!

Password: Deviled Eggs.

Samples

First Person Sample:

[It begins with a series of false starts and a lot of fumbling before the camera focuses on a Charmander. It grins happily and waves its hands with a happy "Char!", to which the person manning the camera can't help but chuckle a little. The Gear turns around and Momo shows up on the feed, smiling, though it looks slightly forced.]

Ah, hello! Someone told me that I could use this to communicate with others here... Johto, right? [There's a light laugh] It seems like a cute place, if the creatures are anything to go by.

[A pause here while she tucks an errant lock of hair behind an ear. It seems like she's stalling, nervous and maybe a little shaken up. Finally, she returns her attention back towards the camera-]

Anyway, I'm Momo. It seems like I'll be here for a while, but... if anyone knows a way back, please let me know.

[The camera is lowered, just catching the last bit before turning off.]

I have to go back. I can't leave them.

Third Person Sample:
The first thing that hit her was the fear; Matsumoto bleeding in front of her, a gaping hole in her side. She had seen and experienced numerous amounts of bruises and wounds in her lifetime - some shallow, some deep, but she had never seen this before. The pain visible on Matsumoto's face made her hands shake and Momo wished she didn't have to feel it at all. A cold, clammy vice settled around her heart and she knew if she didn't do something soon, Matsumoto would die... and that was something she couldn't take. She had already come to terms with Aizen, if she lost her friend as well, she didn't think she could handle it or accept it.

The next thing that hit her was the pain. Vaguely, she realized it punched her exactly in the same place that Aizen had stabbed her. It seemed so long ago, but the pain didn't change. She couldn't move, couldn't fight back and the vice around her heart tightened all the more. But Kira, Kira was there and she didn't want to be healed. "Rangiku-san. Rangiku-san first."

As she lied there next to Kira, the number of wounded slowly increasing around them, she looked up at Aizen; still and towering like a fallen god above them, serene smile ever present on his face. Her heart threatened to crush itself and she couldn't help but choke out a sob, head clouded and chest hurting and aching. Her hopes that Aizen would turn around and help them weren't going to happen and the thought of it hurt even more than the wounds she had. She still couldn't understand and a part of her still didn't want to understand, the part of her that was weak, that still wanted things to go back to the way they were. No matter how hard she tried, she didn't think she could ever take that side of her away.

But despite it all, Momo closed her eyes. And wished.

Upon waking, the first thing Momo saw was a ceiling. That in itself was more than a little strange since the last thing she saw was endless blue sky, Kira's blond hair shifting with the wind at the edges of her vision. It was definitely unfamiliar but she could tell it was lived in. Actually, the whole room she was in was quite homey and comfortable, a stark contrast to her rather sparse living quarters back in Seireitei.

The pain she was expecting to feel didn't come and she checked her body as she lied there, a little surprised that her injuries weren't there anymore. Did Kira finish healing her? Or someone else? Fear settled in her heart again when she thought of Rangiku, side torn and bleeding so much... Kira had to have finished healing her. Momo pulled back the covers and she sat up, bottom lip caught between her teeth as she glanced around the room again. Her zanpakuto was no where to be found, which raised more than a few alarms in her head, though the fact that she was still wearing her shihakusho did ease her a little.

Gathering her hair back into its regular bun, her fingers shakily tied the ribbon as panic and all her emotions threatened to consume her inside out. She shouldn't be here, she should be back at Karakura, trying to help Kira, Matsumoto... everyone.

She had to save him. She still had to save Aizen. And she couldn't do that here.

With a slightly shaky hand, she reached for the doorknob, turning it and poking her head out.

"H... Hello?"
