muses_w_remotes 12.17. “My brother and I were born strangers.” | Inventing the Abbotts

Apr 11, 2009 00:40

Things were different when he was born. Different as in being taught how to handle a gun the moment he could walk. The moment he could do anything remotely… well, just the moment he had coordination. It was something that both his mother and father insisted. Though he didn’t think that he was his mother’s pride and joy. Sometimes he didn’t think he was his father’s. Despite being younger than his brother… despite not having much to want for, he felt like the outcast.

His brother was the Messiah. The man whom would lead the Resistance. Lead mankind to destroy the machines. Save mankind. He was just there. Someone who would fall back into the shadows. Be the man whom worked under his brother’s command and nothing else. No… they were strangers. Him and John were like oil and water. Where John would lead the war, he didn’t want a thing to do with it. Though he could say that he wasn’t a part of the war till he was blue in the face. It didn’t work. And considering whom his father was…

None of that mattered. He was a stranger to his own family. To his brother. Some days he wished he’d never been born. Maybe then his parents would be proud. Then they’d only have to deal with their precious Messiah. Their leader of mankind. Their Savior.
