CHA CHA CHA CHA CHA CHA CHA and and POE 13 times have exchanged places in my head
Eurovision has become my personality again. I used to grow up seeing European friends online talk about the show, I think especially starting with Conchita (remember Conchita?!) in 2014. I always felt so left out and then we finally got this TV that plays the show. I realized we could watch it like halfway through in 2021 and in 2022 we had to go to my sister's bridal shower lol.
But this year I watched both semis and the final and it was just soooooo much fun. Danced up a storm to Finland's entry and Austria's song is pretty much permanently in my head lol. I do think it's ridiculous that Russia isn't allowed to perform but Israel and Turkey are. I don't think it's fair to blame the performers for the war, I mean Israel's entry this year was literally eagerly in IDF but what the fuck do I know. 🙄
Anyway, my favourite entries this year were definitely Norway, Finland, Austria, Portugal, Czechia, Moldova, Germany, Australia, and Belgium. God I got DRUNK lol. I think I enjoyed Armenia, Georgia, Netherlands too. (Those last two didn't make it past the semis.)
Usually when I get into Eurovision I watch compilation videos of winners, second place, and third place. I was surprised at a few that had apparently won over the years so starting in 2010 I started watching all their semis and I have a notes app up, listing the songs I liked. Well the countries. Because THEN I'll concentrate on a country, listen to those entries I liked, then follow their discography. Starting with Cyprus and Greece again lol. You know.
It's so much fun, I can't wait to crack through this list, there's sooooooo many. I think 2016 may have been my favourite year so far I was enjoying EVERY song. Some of them need to sing louder though like come on I live in a Greek house, I can barely hear you.
