"For the last time, you were not useless!"
"Oh come on!" Ema laughed. "I watched you and Dyne handle the whole fight by yourselves with a mouthful of sand! Of course I was useless!"
Saeja changed clothes quickly. It was almost as if they hadn't gone years into the future and back in an afternoon. It was probably best not to think too much about it. "If you hadn't kept Negi distracted, there's no telling whether or not we would have been successful!"
"You're not just saying that?" Ema whined, teasingly.
"Of course not!" Saeja replied in earnest. "You're a valuable asset to any team!"
But it bothered her the more she thought about it. The chip Dyne had left with her had been one of her own, and while she wasn't sure what it was or how she would use it, she had an itching feeling that it had something to do with shotgun-body parts. Because of that, they were able to pull off the most incredible dual-tech ever. That sort of power felt absolutely phenomenal. She wondered if Ema was more than a little bit jealous. In that instant she felt Ema's long, thin fingers sliding up her thigh. Ema was stroking her from down below. When had she gotten there?
"If you mean that, you'll dual-tech with me just like you did with Dyne, right~?"
Saeja had been right. Ema really couldn't hide her jealousy, and she probably didn't even try. "I really don't think you have what it takes, Ema," Sae stuck the chip underneath a box on the top shelf and pulled herself out of the closet, dragging Ema for a few feet across the floor before she finally breaking free.
"Why do you always have to tease me like that~?" Ema ran her tongue across her lips, looking like she just discovered the biggest sack of Snackoos on the planet. Her shirt was undone except for the bottom button. Why had she even bothered dressing?
And the more Saeja thought about her reply, the more she began to wonder if she actually was just teasing. It wasn't like her to settle down in one place or with one person, and it definitely seemed like Ema was serious about her.
Ema Skye continued to crawl toward her on all fours. Saeja had to break herself from her gaze by shutting her eyes and turning her back completely. She curled herself up on top of the covers and tried to lay as motionless as she could, as if trying to avoid the attention of a hungry bear or perhaps just a cat in heat.
"Good night, Ema."
As she had predicted, it wasn't long before Ema managed her way across her toned stomach and between her legs. She could probably do it blindfolded and with a time limit based on touch and smell alone. Sad as it was, Saeja couldn't bring herself to resist her touch. Even so, no amount of heat or passion could remove the thoughts plaguing her mind. Maybe it didn't matter if it was Ema's touch, she thought again as she often did. Aside from the literal, there was nothing magical about Ema's fingers. Anyone else with a hand could probably do exactly the same thing. Dyne, for example. Unnaturally endowed as she herself was, Sae wondered if Ema felt the same way, and concluded: probably. So why allow it to continue? Was she truly so weak? Did she truly feel so alone?
Saeja found herself awake long into the night, wondering if her love was honestly but a few inches deep.
