Chapter 125: "The Metal Opera"

Dyne's eyes found her ally still approaching from the right. "Sigma, handle it!"

"Roger!" Even as he replied, he pulled the trigger of a grenade launcher and blew Xinruk's arm off at the shoulder. The orb above swelled and dissipated.

Negi threw his hands out to his sides, summoning six-hundred arrows of light. Asuna braced herself and continued her charge. "If it was just my right hand that could cancel magic, this might be bad," she thought to herself. "But it's not... it's not, so...!"

Negi's cry was muted by the sound of arrows cutting through the air and arcing toward Asuna all at once.

Each and every one vanished upon contact. She did a short cheer and proceeded to knee Negi Springfield in the face, effectively rendering him unconscious for the third time that day.

"Nice one, brat," Ema coughed out, brushing sand from her tongue.

Xinruk continued to laugh, even with a bleeding stump. "Is this really how you intend to defeat me? Preposterous! Come and get me with that toy sword of yours, little girl."

Saeja smirked, inches away from Xinruk, and leaped over him. "On your call, Dyne!"

Sure enough, the Knight droid was but a few feet behind her. "Secure stake!!"

Still facing the opposite direction as Xinruk, Saeja thrust her katana into his back with all the force she could muster. "Stake in place!"

"Commencing Dual Tech!" Dyne hopped on top of the blade sticking out of Xinruk's stomach and launched herself into the air. With little else said, she did a single jet-enhanced forward flip and landed with an axe kick on her right heel. Also her right heel is a lot like a shotgun.

Finishing the attack, Saeja raised her weapon and completed the cut, leaving Xinruk's body in a gushing heap on the desert sand.

Sigma frowned. "That's what I've been wanting to do!"

And everyone had a good laugh.
