Moving update

Our apartment is currently being dismantled in preparation for our move in one week.  All traces of cat feces and vomit are gone from my sister’s former room, and the air quality is now acceptable for life.  I’ve probably spent 10 hours cleaning a room that was originally beyond repair.  I’m actually proud of the job I did on the room, probably because I know I’m soon going to have to sleep in there.  All traces of my sister’s presence have been erased from the room.  Everything she owned that was in the room has been neatly organized into densely packed boxes in the room’s closet.  The closet is so packed that not one more things can fit in there.  I don’t care though, because I’m not going to use the closet.  In fact, I’m rearranging the furniture in there to block the closet doors to provide more floor space.  I can’t do that yet, because I need to get in the closet to run the internet cable into the room.  The room already has cable TV.  I did all this pack-cleaning yesterday while my mom was gone, because she seems to disapprove of me doing anything to my sister’s stuff.  The thing is I told me sister about 30 days ago that I was moving back in, and she has done less than nothing to sort through her stuff.  Now, she’s not going to have access to the stuff that was in her room.  Keeping in mind, the stuff that was in her room probably hasn’t been touched in years.  Everything she actually uses is downstairs in the family room.  She’s such a horrible slob that she would rather forfeit her room and the majority of her possessions since she didn’t want to clean the room.

Now that the room is completely spotless, I have to move my things in there before she gets a chance to reclaim the room or destroy it by going through the stuff in the closet.  She has a tendency to make a horrible mess out of everything she touches, and she uses work and school as an excuse to do nothing.  My mom, who baby-sits maybe 12 hours a week, also claims she doesn’t have time to keep the house clean and that we all need to do our part to ensure the house stays clean.  Every single room in the house is overflowing with filth, except the room I just cleaned.  My younger brother’s room is probably the worst room in the house now.  His room is kind of small, but the only clean spot in the room is the space in front of the TV where he sits to play video games.  His room has been cleaned maybe once in the past two years.
