You can cheat to an extent in an online class, but this girl is even lazier.

I am currently enrolled in an online class called Urban Politics.  Should I pass, it will be my last college class ever.  While I didn’t do too great on the first test, that’s usually expected.  I only got a 53/100, because I lost 20 points for submitting it late- seven hours past the time it was due.  There’s several other elements that could still improve my grade before the class is over in four weeks.  Plus, the teacher’s graded nothing but the test so far, so I don’t really know my current grade.  Since this is an online class, most of the work is simply participating in online discussion threads.  I didn’t buy the book, so most of my posts rely on preexisting knowledge on the subject, opinions, and internet research.  Of course, I never post my ideas first just in case I am completely wrong.  I wait until a dozen students or so have posted, and then I create my ideas based on what the majority of them have said in their answers.  I typically scan through their responses just to get some ideas.

However, this one student did one better.  She did nothing more than copy and pasted another student’s comments into her own answer.  She barely even changed any of the text in her own response.  What’s funny is that the original student, whose answer was copied, noticed that another student had copied her answer, and she even commented on it.  Many students comment that they agree with another student in their answer, but this girl blatantly copied another students answer.  If I were the teacher, I would fail the copying student (if she’s not already failing).  Here is what the discussion looks like.  The original student’s answer is the first one on top- meaning that she posted her answer first.  The girl who blatantly copied is at the bottom.
