Latest update of everything

There was no school today, which is really good, because I wanted to sleep in.  Student teaching’s taking up more time than I wanted- probably just because it’s cutting into my free time too much.  I have to go to school from at least 7-3 everyday, but then I still work at Cracker Barrel on top of this.  On Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays, I have to go to school and then to work directly afterwards from 4-11 (12 on Friday).  For once, Cracker Barrel’s actually giving me too many hours.  I asked for around 20, which seemed like an impossibility a few months ago, but now I have to work upwards of 34 hours a week with 40 hours a week of school.  I still have to do a lot of planning for school, and my sleep seems to be getting cut because of this.  I average around 5½ hours of sleep a night for at least five days week.  I have a million complaints about student teaching, but it’s probably in my best interest to hold off on those complaints until I’m done with school.

I got all my taxes back, and I got a total of $1,074.  This is hundreds of dollars more than usual, but I don’t exactly get to do what I want with most of it.  I need to take one more class at EMU in the springtime, and this will cost about $700 (although I’ll stall paying on that as long as possible).  I still owe the foot doctor $600, but I’ve been making minimal payments.  I want to spend some money on things that I want, specifically a digital camera and an mp3 player.  I feel like I’m the only person in he world who doesn’t have these.  I’m not going to buy an iPod, because I refuse to spend hundreds of dollars.  I can’t find any better deals on eBay, so I’ll just go to Walmart.  The new item on my wish list, after I buy those things, is to get a new TV.  It’s time to upgrade to a flat-screen of maximum inches.  That is something I would have Rachael pay half for.  I would need to get a new TV stand too, which has continually remained on my wish list for several months.

Our dog, Shadow, finally died after several months of crippling dog cancer.  For reasons beyond belief, my family did not have the dog euthanized.  Rather, they let him waste away to a skeleton in the freezing cold before he finally died.  The cancer started with a mere tumor on his little toe, but my mom insisted that it was nothing.  Three months later, he’s dead with cancer in every possible orifice.  He would still be alive had my mom not be so neglecting.  Then, after his toe problem became severe, they took him to the vet, in which the vet simply gave him an allotted time left to live.  I was over there a week ago, and the dog was in so much pain, he couldn’t even move.  He was nothing but skin and bones, and then he died the next day.

I, on the other hand, refuse to allow such gross mistreatment of my own animals.  Granted, we lost several fish during the process of setting up a fish tank efficiently enough, but none of our fish have died in about three weeks (picture #1).  We also bought a cat, informally named “Cat” or “Kitty.”  Rachael and I suggested the name “Star,” but I rarely refer to animals by their real names since they never respond to their names anyway (picture #2).  We bought her from the Humane Society just over a month ago.  Also, just for fun, I went out and bought some decorative cactuses and a hanging plant (picture #3).
