A lot of this mirrors something I just wrote about for Idol, which I found pretty hilarious. It's better stated, of course. Here are some things I really liked from Ch. 4.
"Vulnerability is the last thing I want you to see in me, but the first thing I look for in you."
"Don't apologize for what you have. Be grateful for it and share that gratitude with others."
"'Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good.' A twenty-minute walk that I do is better than the four-mile run that I don't do. The imperfect book that gets published is better than the perfect book that never leaves my computer. The dinner party of take-out Chinese is better than the elegant dinner that I never host."
"Quick and dirty wins the race. Perfection is the enemy of done. Good enough is really effin' good."
"We are a culture of people who have bought into the idea that if we stay busy enough, the truth of our lives will not catch up with us."
"Much of the beauty of light owes its existence to the dark."
"Using vulnerability is not the same as being vulnerable. It is the opposite."
"Cruelty is cheap, easy, and chickenshit."
"Don't try to win over the haters; you are not a jackass whisperer."
