"You take the high road..."
It's been a while since I've posted directly to LiveJournal. This was by design, of course. I've been trying for the past year to "break into" some of the bear circles here in Portland, and it seems the vast majority of them - hell, all of the, from what I can see - use Facebook. And so, I've been posting over there in an attempt to insinuate myself into some of the cliques.
It hasn't gone well, made all the more clear by my recent abandonment of a road that I thought was actually leading somewhere. I did meet some fine people, but none who seemed willing to extend an invitation my way. And the one who did initially express interest, grew more and more irritated in my presence each time we got together. So, okay, time to try a new fork in the road - better that, than months of passive/aggressive negativity on his part. I'm a bit saddened that different results weren't achieved, but it is what it is. I only hope that this doesn't mean that I'm going to remain a complete outsider in Portland's bear scene.
I regret not keeping up with my LiveJournal posting, but it's clear to me that 99% of those reading Facebook aren't interested in posts of more than a few sentences. And anyone who's followed this blog for any length of time know that I need more than just a few sentences to express myself.
