Has been in psychiatric therapy for several years, and has taken medication. Suffered physical and mental abuse by his father until very recently. Mother abandoned the family on 06/30/08. Father killed in an accident on 10/13/08. Has played tennis at Rikkai University Attached Junior High School, and Rikkai University Attached High School, under extremely dominant upperclassmen. "Received" his second personality at an unknown point in childhood, possibly as a result of father's abuse. Has been the object of at least one unwanted disaster-induced advance.
Initial Diagnoses:
Dissociative Identity Disorder. Depression. Avoidance. Psychosis. Obsessive. Masochistic.
Notes:
Dissociative Identity Disorder: Kirihara often refers to a "demon" that appears to reside within him as a completely separate entity. The personality is not an actual "demon", however, and is in fact identical to himself. When dominant, this personality is aggressive, violent, hypersexual, and out-of-control (see 07/10/07). When struggling for control, Kirihara often becomes distressed and manic and reports hearing "the demon". Admits to having let "the demon" take partial control in the past, which resulted in the hospitalization of several of his peers.
Depression: Usually seems to experience lows following a psychotic or personality-switching episode. Has mentioned ritual suicide (usually seppuku, a form of Japanese suicide usually associated with dishonor) several times, and is known to inflict self-hurt or incite violence from another person. Has mentioned feelings of worthlessness or inappropriate guilt.
Avoidance: Uses optimism to divert attention from depression and low moods. Also tends to act younger than his age to avoid responsibility for his actions.
Psychosis: Often has hallucinations of his other personality, and experiences Formal Thought Disorder.
Obsessive: Has an unnatural fixation on tennis, as observed in many others of his "fandom". Possibly a coping mechanism.
Masochism/Self-Defeating Personality Disorder: Acts in such a way as to incite violence against his person, and has been known to overwork himself to the point of physical injury or strain. Currently seems to be pursuing a relationship with Rammsteiner, Haine. Also see: Relationship to (and any threads with) Envy.
Other: Has also recently developed an overly-codependent relationship with his twin brother, Akiya. Has been living alone with his brother for close to two months, with the occasional addition of Tachibana, An, or other friends. Has a warped sense of parental duties. When dominant, this personality is entirely out of control, similar to a berserker rage, and is extremely homicidal. It is (allegedly) immortal, believes itself to be a necessary component of the personality, and apparently has a long-term goal.
Depression: As with Kirihara, Rammsteiner tends to lapse into a depressive state following a personality-switch or psychotic episode. He also have very little sense of self-worth, does not consider himself worth knowing, and has, on occasion, mentioned the possibility of suicide/death, were death an option given his circumstances.
Avoidance: Often unable to deal with the repercussions of switching personalities, and therefore uses avoidance as a solution.
Antisocial Personality Disorder: Exhibits all of the following indicators of antisocial personality disorder: failure to conform to social norms as indicated by repeatedly performing acts that are grounds for arrest; irritability and aggressiveness, as indicated by repeated physical fights or assaults; reckless disregard for safety of self or others; inability to make or keep friends; and lack of remorse, as indicated by being indifferent to having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder: Factors which may have impacted the development of this disorder include (but are not limited to) the emotional and physical repercussions of genetic modification at an early age; verbal and mental abuse during childhood; sororicide; and exposure to a violent lifestyle during the formative years. Has experienced nightmares of killing his younger "sister", Lily.
Homicidal/Aggressive: May go into psychotic rages when the security or well-being of loved ones is threatened or questioned. Also works as an assassin-for-hire, the implications of which are obvious.
