For Leia

It's a quartz watch. Good make, actually. Breguit. (Quartz crystal tends to make for good watches, as they don't unwind themselves: it's why he has a lump of the stuff on his desk. What, you thought it was for decoration?) Well maintained, too -- though obviously it's not perfect, or he wouldn't be here repairing it, putting the finishing touches, prodding gently at the new low-frequency bar to nudge it into position.

It's not the only piece on his desk: there's the Sylar watch, of course, and a pocket-watch that an old man said was his pride and joy (quite right too, he hasn't opened it up yet but it's beautiful), and a movement he managed to rescue from a carriage clock that had been chewed by someone's dog. (People sometimes give him scraps, and a few are even salvageable.)

The watch has every inch of his attention. The rest of the world? Might as well not exist.
