I ANTICIPATED THIS QUESTION, and ascertained that the Homestuck wiki is pretty much completely useless in answering it.

But, in the troll quadrant system (which has romance for all four suits of cards, not just hearts), it is the diamond, and it is sort of like platonic soul mates, only with a more specific function. Basically it is non-sexual romance (...Raven fails at the non-sexual part) where you balance each other, help out other relationships, and talk about feelings a lot.

LET'S TRAUMAING I keep thinking I need something to actually... happen, as well, and I forget that, since it's camp, we can basically make up our own event.

Okay, what would be traumatic. Something that fucks with Estelle's blastia-ness? Something that fucks with both their blastia-ness?

I was actually thinking vaguely about something like that, that instead of whatever handwavy spirit-powered thing I am doing with Raven's blastia it could actually go back to draining his life force. Estelle's formula could theoretically do the same! But I don't know why that would happen or exactly how they would... tell. Or what the immediate consequences would be. Since that's not entirely clear. And it's not like they're using their artes much in non-catastophe situations anyway.

Maybe instead it could go back the other way, to Hermes blastia/Child of the Full Moon poison? Pulling energy from their surroundings, potentially causing overproduction of energy in magical people/things and driving them crazy? Handwave handwave somehow their spirit-powered formulas got redirected to draw power from elsewhere?

My other alternative was to try to recruit a psychopath to rip Raven's heart out. That is pretty much guaranteed trauma.

Oh, I like that. There are some plants/monsters that would be affected by blastia pretty heavily! (MILE HIGH CORN. MARCY IS REALLY ENTHUSIASTIC?)

we will need to come up with a "fix" that doesn't involve Rita, of course...
