A laugh
It has been an interesting mix of a week.
Nick's show went on without fault (except that it was a little late) on Monday night. I was so proud of him! I hear it went very well and I can't wait to watch the tape. I only wish I had been there to see it and support him in person.
I didn't get cast in the play. In fact, I was the only person with a callback who didn't get cast (and one person without one did). In other words, this other kid basically replaced me. I was okay with it at the beginning, but then the disappointment struck me. I miss performing so much and this is the first play in my life that I haven't been cast (even as an extra or understudy) in. So I won't be doing any acting this semester (and this month it has been a full year since my last show - last year on my birthday). I hope I don't get rusty. I just miss the rush. I missed my opportunity to join the acapella groups hear (too late with the hurricane business) and I didn't get cast in Grease (long story). So...there's Chapel Choir. I love the meaning behind it but I miss the emphasis on vocal performance.
So, I'm pretty bummed about the above; don't know what I'm going to do about it.
Yesterday I went into the Hill for the first time since the boys left. It was hard for me. I tried not to show it, but it was heartwrenching. We spent so many nights there...so many memories.
All I can say is that last night was probably a the best night to go back for the first time: there was a stand-up comedian, Kyle Cease. The guy was hilarious (though a little profane) and a student from Northeastern (also very good) opened for him. I laughed so hard and definitely had a blast. It just reinforced my knowledge that...I love stand up!
Last weekend Liz and I went into Boston and visited 3 colleges. We had a lot of fun! We were able to meet Liz's brother and his friends and then we saw Dany. So it was a great overall time. I think we're going ice skating with K.C., Baker &co next weekend.
This weekend I'm headed to BU to visit Jenna and celebrate her birthday! That should be great. I haven't seen her since she started at BU.
I have 12 days to get a Valentine! haha Think I can do it...?
