Anyway, that song, "Firesoul" by this band Mercenary. It's so great. It's one of the great metal tunes in my collection. It's also completely representative of the band, the way that I think of "To Bid You Farewell" or "The Drapery Falls" by Opeth, or "This Godless Endeavor" by Nevermore. It's in the category of "awesome metal." It's not power metal or death metal or anything, it's just totally awesome. The guy doesn't really roar so much as he screams, but he does roar sometimes, and he also has some power metal bits where his voice is so high pitched that you can't help but get totally pumped. The song also has a sweet solo.
You should beg, borrow, or steal to get that song. Buy it from the iTunes Music Store for 99 cents! You'll love it. I was driving to work today and some guy in the car next to mine at a red light thought I was insane because I was playing some sweet air guitar, but I was in such a great mood because I was listening to Firesoul that I just threw him the goat and kept right on rocking out.
I don't know how much more I can endorse these nine minutes of music, but if I did know, I would continue to endorse them, because they are glorious and insane, the way all metal should be.
