[Note: Those who know about his past will realize how much this dream is really going to affect him, but to anyone else, he's going to play it off as just another dream. And yes, this is a two-part dream with the first part public but the last bit more private.]

Ten years ago. She was standing in front of him, her smile as bright as always. She was donned in her Imperial Knights armor, her bow slung over her shoulder, casual as always.
But then things changed. It was after the War, and they were both standing on top of a hill outside of Zaphias. They were in civilian clothing, but Raven still had the look he had when he was younger. His old self. Clean, tidy, and decently dressed. And there she was, her hair loose and long, flowing in the wind freely. They could have been mistaken as nobles. And they were laughing.
Raven stepped up to her and took her hand with his left while his right fished something from his pocket. His green eyes meeting her wide blue ones, he slipped on an elegantly crafted ring onto her ring finger, a nervous but his usual grin on his lips.
And now, instead of on top of the hill, the two were standing in front of the alter, hands still in place. But this time, they were dressed as bride and groom, and Raven moved his arm so it wrapped around her waist, his other hand interlacing with hers. The priest was going on, but they didn't hear any of it. Just focused on each other.
"Schwann," the woman whispered as she stepped closer to him, her eyes looking deep into his.
His heart was throbbing painfully in his chest but he didn't know why.
...No. He knew why. But he didn't want to think about it. Not right now. "Casey," he murmured softly as he leaned down to her, his lips pressing against hers.

[PRIVATE // ONLY THOSE CLOSE TO HIM AND REALLY GOOD HACKERS WILL SEE THIS PART, EVERYONE ELSE GETS LOTS OF PRETTY FLOWERS AND CAN ASSUME OTHER THINGS HAPPENED? 8D?]
But it only lasted a moment. As much as he didn't it want to, it had. As he pulled away, he could already see her sad eyes, the tears running down her face. And when the tips of his fingers brushed against her cheek to wipe them away, she started to fade and disintegrated into firelily petals. Raven watched the flowers fly into the wind, his expression blank, as if he had known this would happen.
And now he was as he is now: thirty-five and in his usual clothing, his hair no longer down but pulled up into that familiar bushy, messy ponytail. He was no longer standing in a church but on the edge of a cliff overlooking a gorge of barren wasteland. In front of him a mountain with a giant hole at its peak stood in the distant view. His hand was still outstretched where Casey's face had been, but now it was clenched.
The flower petals were still swirling around him when he opened his hand. The rings were there in his palm, glittering in the sunlight. He stared at them for a long moment before he tossed them over the edge, a large gust of wind blowing from behind as the remaining petals blew out and away from him.
Raven watched the flowers dance in the wind before they scattered and disappeared, and with his face still devoid of any readable expression, he turned and made his way down the rocky path down Mt. Temza.
Alone.
