"Hey Senpai?"
Rise turned a curious head to look at the boy at her side. The two were making their way down the Samegawa Flood Plain, walking home together after school had let out. It had been anything but quiet at the bank. Children were running around as they playing tag or hide-and-seek, their mothers gossiping as they watched along the sidelines. Even the elderly were out taking an afternoon stroll.
"What is it, Kujikawa-san?" Souji turned to face the girl, his face as placid as ever. Despite the noise, his very being seemed to exude calmness and peace as always. It was enough to make Rise wonder if there was anything that would really upset or excite him.
The ex-idol upped her pace, overtaking the upperclassman, before turning on her heel to face him. She placed her hands on her hips and puffed her cheeks out. "Why do you call everyone else by their name except me?" She pursed her lips as she leaned forward, waiting for a reply.
"I do?"
Rise wasn't sure whether he really hadn't realized it or if he had other intentions in mind. She was usually good at these things but he was definitely a hard person to read.
"Geez, Senpai. Really?" Her palm remained planted on her hips as she straightened up. A pout formed on her lips. "Everyone else calls me Rise or Risette. You're like the only one who calls me Kujikawa-san. You don't have to be so formal, you know?"
Souji let out a low chuckle, low enough to not break his facade.
The pout on Rise face only deepened. "What's so funny?" She let out an irritated huff, crossing her arms over her chest. "We're not going to go home until you say my name."
That was when he let out a laugh, a real laugh. He slowly approached her, placing a hand on her shoulder as he reached her. "Let's go home, Rise."
Rise craned her neck to look at him to find a smile on his face. She stared for a moment before turning away, a deep red color forming around her cheeks. Wh-what was that? She had felt some sense of accomplishment, being able to get her upperclassman to change his mind so quickly. However, she felt some kind of contentment, that something was just... right. "S-senpai..."
"Yeah?"
She shook her head, jarring herself back into reality. "I-it's nothing."
Souji then released her shoulder from his grip and walked ahead. "You coming?"
Rise spun herself to face him, jogging slightly to catch up to her upperclassman. She hooked his arm around hers as she reached him. "I didn't think you were so easy to break, Senpai!"
He simply replied to her with a smile. And that was more than enough for Rise.

Rise rolled over under the covers as she let out a sound of contentment, a smile on her face.
