He probably shouldn't do it.
He was only a step away from the door to her chamber (if it could properly be called a chamber), hand poised and ready to knock. No, he told himself, he really shouldn't do it. He doubted she wanted to see him at the moment, and he had no idea what to say or why he was even there, but he couldn't quite bring himself to walk away. His head was ringing with confusion (or maybe just the miasma fumes), and so he wasn't entirely convinced that he was in his right mind when he knocked tentatively at her door.
"Natalia?" he called, unconsciously taking a step away from the door. He waited.
