Oddly happy….sort of

Hi friend…sometimes my only friend. I secret place I can still come and vent. My good ol' journal.

So. There can be times that I feel so alone at work, dealing with problems, fixing problems, handling all the stress all on my own. It makes me frustrated. It makes me want to walk right out and never return. But I'm an adult and I have bills to pay so I don't.

However, recent events at work have put everyone, and i mean EVERYONE in an extremely shitty situation. Some have it worse than others for sure. I'm somewhere in the middle. And brother do you need to have some serious problem solving skills to make it through a work day. Unfortunately, not everyone has those skills. And as challenging as everyday has been, get this…I'm not unhappy. I think I'm actually enjoying going to work for once. There's something about us all being in this together than makes me motivated to keep going. And somehow I've taken the reins in a lot of situations and have made some very risky decision making. It could all explode in the end but for now it's working and it makes me feel good to be a part of how it's all going to work out in the long run.

And it's amazing how many people are not capable of making the tiniest of decisions on their own right now. I get it, in a normal work environment it's not going to look to good if you're constantly going over the bosses head to get something done. Or coming up with alternate solutions that my go against a management decision. But here's the thing people…this isn't a normal right now. You can't just sit there and twiddle your fucking thumbs until your boss tells you what to do. Right now, no one knows what to do! Not even our boss! So stop wasting your fucking time and come up with a solution on your own to just get shit done. It's a business. Work is not going to stop because our world has been turned upside down. It's gotta keep going and not everyone has the answer right now so it's up to good ol' fashion trouble shooting, learning from mistakes, going with your gut feelings and just plain old common sense. This is the only time in history this may happen so take advantage of it. Let's get risky folks!
