I'm actually quite clever, I promise
I haven't been able to get to sleep until the early hours of the morning the past couple of nights, which is annoying given I have to be on the bus by 7:30 at the latest to get to the prison on time. I think the sleep deprivation is affecting my brain.
Me: Is there an information sheet with directions to the prison that I can send out to a visiting family member?
Manager: Yes. *points to piece of paper on the wall directly in front of me*
Me: Oh, yeah. That's been scribbled on, is there a better one I can photocopy? Do we have them on the leaflets table outside?
Manager: We don't have them on the leaflets table, no. Because people don't need directions to the Visitors' Centre when they're standing in the Visitors' Centre, do they... *laughs and points*
In order to pass my placement, my work with service users has to be observed three times across the 100 days. My first observation is tomorrow, so here's hoping I can sleep tonight. At least my paper work's in order!
