Life might not suck right now

Hi everyone. Remember me? Haven't written in a while, despite the urge to do so every so often.
I have a cold. That sucks. But that's pretty much where my complaints end, save for a couple things I don't feel like delving into here.
Being in New England at this time is pretty amazing. Especially for someone who loves sports and gets paid to write about them. The Red Sox winning the World Series, the Patriots being undefeated (to this point), the Revolution reaching the Eastern Conference finals, the Celtics being able to beat someone other than high school teams, and the Bruins exceeding all early expectations. And despite a loss to unranked Florida State, the BC football team isn't half bad.
I'm trying to think of another time when the New England/Boston sports scene has been as prolific. Maybe the late sixties/early seventies, with the Celtics finishing their run as a dynasty and the Bruins being a championship contender nearly every season. But then again, the Red Sox were still "overcome by the curse" and the Patriots were... not nearly as good as they are now, to put things nicely.
I guess it's not that important in the grand scheme of life, but all of that stuff provides something of a respite and distraction from everyday living.
Also, the Holiday Season is nearly here and I can't help but feel unenthused. Halloween brought to my attention (once again, as it's become a yearly reminder) that holidays, especially as commercial as they have become, just lack the magic they possessed when I was younger. Now I just look forward to having a day or two to relax, but that gets compromised as it seems there's always somewhere to run to on any given holiday. Oh well, things could be far worse.
On a sidenote from that, is it weird that I somewhat enjoy Christmas shopping? I think it is.
Well, that's it for now. Feel free to leave any feedback and/or new suggestions for music I should listen to.
