I'm torn.
which is worse advice?
"You should be more confident"
or
"Well you know you should always save your work"
both imply something that the person already knows, and probably knows because of some folly they have already experienced but can do nothing about at this point. Both are usually said in a condescending manner. and both tend to annoy the person it's being directed at.
So what do you think?
